About Shirley Riley

The "I am an Art Therapist Exhibit," on display at Phillips in Spring 2008, was a collection of art based on a famous injunction of Shirley Riley. She used to tell her students to look in the mirror and say, "I am an Art Therapist."

The department raised $2000 towards the Shirley Riley Memorial Fund, which sends a student scholar to the American Art Therapy Association Annual Conference.

Direct donations are also accepted. Please contact the Director of Advancement at 818.654.1732.
