Phillips Graduate Institute Scholarships:

A limited number of Phillips Graduate Institute scholarships are available each academic year. The scholarship application deadlines for the Fall 2009 semester have not yet been set. Updated information will be posted here as soon as it is available.

Japanese American Citizens League
Criteria: Must be a member of JACL. Thirty scholarships available for graduate and undergraduate students. Scholarships are not renewable.

Criteria: Student must be of Mexican descent and attended Roosevelt High, Garfield High, or Lincoln High schools in Los Angeles County.

AMVETS National Service Foundation
Criteria: The scholarships are for veterans enrolled in full-time programs pursuant to a degree or certificate. Veteran must have exhausted federal aid and need funds to complete program. Maximum eligibility is four years.

Dr. Aurelio M. Caccomo Family Foundation Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: The scholarships are for veterans, including members of the National Guard and Reserves, seeking new skills in order to be more competitive in the job market. The one time $3,000 award may be used for part time or full time undergraduate courses, accredited degree or certificate programs, including online schools. Applicant must be a US citizen with financial need, with a high school diploma or GED who has not defaulted on a federal student loan.

Cuban American Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must be full-time undergraduate or graduate of Cuban descent with a GPA of at least 3.0. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents of California.

United States Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
Criteria: Applicant must be a child of a current or former Marine pursuing an undergraduate degree. $ 30,000 awarded in scholarship assistance to every child of a Marine, or of a Navy Corpsman serving with the Marines, whose parent is killed in the Global War on Terror.

CHCI Scholarships
Criteria: This premier scholarship opportunity is afforded to Latino students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future. There is no GPA or major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

American Association of University Women-San Diego Branch
Criteria: Must be a full-time female student working on an undergraduate or credential, but not a graduate degree with at least a 3.4 GPA. College or university must be in San Diego.

9 Beans and a Burrito Foundation
Criteria: Student must be a high school graduating senior or currently enrolled college student continuing with plans to attend a junior college or a four-year college/university with at least a 3.5 GPA. This scholarship is open to all full-time students in any field of study.

TYLENOL® Scholarship Program
Criteria: Tylenol will give up to $250,000 away in scholarship funds to students pursuing healthcare-related education at an accredited institution based on leadership qualities and academic performance. The program helps students who are pursuing careers in the healthcare, life sciences, or related fields manage the rising costs of education.

United Methodist Higher Education Foundation
Criteria: Must be an active, full member of The United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying. Members of other Methodist denominations are not eligible. International students must be attending a United Methodist-related institution in the United States. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time degree program (graduate or undergraduate) at a regionally accredited educational institution in the U.S. Priority is given to applicants enrolled or planning to enroll in a United Methodist-related institution. Doctoral (PhD) candidates are not eligible.

ELA Foundation, Inc. Scholarships
Criteria: Must be a female Masters or Doctoral candidate with a physical disability studying in the U.S. The student must be active in a local, state, or national disability organization - either in person or electronically - which is providing services and/or advocacy for people with disabilities. The student must be willing, as an ELA Scholar, to network with the ELA Board of Directors and previous ELA Scholarship recipients on our listserv. This will enhance the ELA Scholar's support base in professional and advocacy arenas. The student must be willing, as an ELA Scholar, to update the ELA Foundation with an annual letter on September 1st of each year on her progress in her academic and/or working career.

Criteria: College undergraduates in their Junior and Senior year and graduate students studying finance, accounting or business related fields.

Salvadoran-American Leadership & Educational Fund
Criteria: Applicants must be Salvadoran, Central American, or other of other Latino background and live in Los Angeles. Students must have at least a 2.5 GPA and a history of community service and involvement. High school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students may apply.

The A&F Scholarships
Criteria: The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution between the ages of 16 and 30. Student must write on one of two essays and submit via email. See site for options.

Atlas Shrugged
Criteria: Write on 1 of 3 essay topics. Forty-nine awards will be given. You can submit essay online or via mail by 11:59PM PST. Open to all grade levels worldwide.

Cappex "I Don't Want To Pay For College" Scholarship
Criteria: Must complete a free Cappex profile to apply. The scholarship will go to the most well-rounded student as defined by extracurricular, leadership and volunteer activities. Recipient must be currently enrolled, or plan to enroll within the next 12 months, at an accredited college or university located in the United States. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and have a high school diploma or GED.
