Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning
Mission
The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning informs the institution's decision-making and planning processes and participates in the guidance of the institution's strategic direction. The following describes the functions of the office:
- Serves as the chief information clearinghouse for the institution
- Supplies timely and accurate information to the trustees, senior administrators, and faculty committees that will
- a) aid in understanding PGI and its place among graduate institutions in psychology
- b) serve as a means for advancing strategic planning, policy setting, and evaluation
- c) provoke informed conversations about issues of graduate education in the field of psychology
- Provides consultation and support institute committees, staff and faculty regarding the availability, scope and appropriate use of existing institute data, and collection of additional information when necessary
- Responds to requests for data from institute programs, offices, and external requestors including other institutions of higher education and government agencies
- Contributes to the development of systems that will lead to the provision of timely, accurate, and consistent data about the institute
- Promotes policies and practices that create a campus culture that ensures the effective and responsible collection and use of institutional data
- Coordinates, reviews and approves the institutional surveying of student, faculty, staff, and alumni populations
- Provides consultation on assessment, evaluation, survey design, sampling, and analysis
- Administers institutionally mandated surveys of PGI populations including students, staff, faculty, and alumni
